Former Husky Goepfert featured on NHL.com

Not long ago I wrote about former SCSU Husky standout goaltender (and 2007 Hobey Baker finalist) Bobby Goepfert's return to North American hockey. Goepfert spent last season with Hamburg in the German Elite League but has signed on to play next season for the AHL's Charlotte Checkers. Recently, NHL.com featured an article (Goepfert readies for his chance in ECHL) about Bobby Goepfert having to overcome being underestimated his whole career. About his early career, NHL.com had this to say:

"The waiting game has worked for Goepfert in the past. He was a Hobey Baker Award finalist for St. Cloud State in 2007 and was the starting goaltender for the United States at the 2003 World Juniors, where he led the tournament with a .937 save percentage."
Despite the Carolina Hurricane's impressive depth cart in goal (Cam Ward, Justin Peters, Mike Murphy and Justin Pogge), I am confident that Bobby's hard work and impressive skills will pay off in his professional career. Best of luck Bobby!

*Of Note: Bobby Goepfert still holds SCSU records for best save percentage (.924) and best goals average against (2.24).
